(not limited to the above, the privacy policy may be applied to
all Webby Inc online properties)
1. For Customers
Plain English summary
We do not share, trade, sell or give out any information about you.
Confidentiality
Any personal and financial information you provide us via the abovementioned
websites or as a result of personal communication with Webby Inc staff
in connection with web services, products and software provided by
Webby Inc. will remain strictly confidential and will never be disclosed
to outside parties, unless a legitimate court warrant is issued in
a form and manner that is acceptable to us. Names and addresses associated
with postys are not kept longer than necessary for normal delivery
of the postys. (Typically 21 days)
Purchase Security
When you place a purchase order online from one of our sites, your
personal information and credit card information are scrambled using
the most up-to-date SSL encryption technology before being sent over
the Internet. This makes it virtually impossible for your information
to be stolen or intercepted while being transferred through cyberspace.
When we receive your order we do not store your credit card information
on our on-line database. The datastorage is not connected to the Internet,
and is therefore safe from hackers. We only store and use the first
and last number of your credit card numbers in the confirmation receipt
sent to you by regular email or mail. Information like the IP number
and location from where an order was placed can be made available
to your credit card company and law enforcement if you suspect unauthorized
use of your credit card.
Email Updates
Webby Inc may send occasional update notices to active customers
as well as alerts regarding possible downtime due to scheduled maintenance
or hardware upgrades.
Customers can specifically ask not to receive such notices by sending
email to info@webby.com (although
the information distributed in such email updates can be crucial for
the services the customer uses).
The only type of emails we will send anyway are renewal notices
and invoice reminders. In extreme cases we may also issue a virus
alert. We do not spam, and we do not allow any of our hosting clients
to spam. Spamming by any client will result in instant punitive termination
without refund.
Security measures against the loss, misuse and alteration of information
Webby Inc implements strong security measures to protect against
loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control.
We use extensive backup practices, store sensitive information offline
and permanently monitor the integrity of our multi-user and specialized
servers.
Server Access
We accurately track all FTP and SSH access and log each session
and activity during each session. These logs are for server administrators
and law enforcement only and not accessible to the public. Insecure
and not-encrypted Telnet is locked out on all of our servers.
2. For Visitors
Plain English summary
We do not gather or store any confidential information.
Information we track
You can browse our sites without entering any personal information
and therefore remain anonymous during your visit.
Our servers log IP addresses and browser types, but we do not link
IP addresses to anything personally identifiable. This means that
a user’s session will be tracked, but the user will be anonymous.
We use server logs for systems administration purposes and statistics
only. We do not share these statistics with the public, except that
some statistical data like percentage of visitors using certain types
of browsers may be made available to our clients.
Surveys and Contests
Our own surveys never ask for real names or postal address. The
purpose of the surveys we conduct is to be able to deliver what the
visitors want to see. Our surveys are anonymous. An email address
may be required to help reduce voting irregularities, however those
emails are discarded after the voter has been established as legitimate..
Newsletters
All subscribers to e-mail newsletters (periodic electronic publications)
may cancel their subscription at any time. Each copy of all of our
newsletters contains unsubscribe instructions. In case of any problems
with canceling subscription or changing subscription details - send
an email to info@webby.com and
indicate which of your email addresses you want unsubscribed. Please
make sure you also mention from which publication you want to be unsubscribed.
Links
Our sites contain links to other sites, including some which Webby
Inc does not own or have any control over. Webby Inc is not responsible
for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites.
3. Special privacy issues concerning posty TM
( multimedia Internet postcards) services
"Posty TM" services require visitors to enter names and
e-mail addresses of sender and recipient of a posty and may contain
private information inside.
Webby Inc does not share this information with any third parties
(including advertisers) under ANY circumstances, unless a legitimate
court warrant is issued in a form and manner acceptable to us, before
the cards in question have expired. Cards expire in 10 to 21 days
and after that can not be retrieved any more, neither by us nor by
the sender nor the recipient. No permanent copies of the card data
are created and/or stored online or offline. While the cards are awaiting
pick-up by the recipient, who has the code number, the posty messages
can not be read by third parties and are not read by humans or robots.
Webby Inc. is not responsible for the grammar, spelling, views,
opinions and or tastes expressed on any posty sent via our sites
or the sites of our clients, or with our software, nor for the frequency
at which a posty may be sent.
We do not collect or use e-mail addresses of posty senders and recipients
for any purposes.
All posty e-mail notifications sent via the Webby Inc. servers can
be clearly identified by the originating domain (Received-From: field
in e-mail header) and will contain one of the abovementioned FQ domain
names or derivative third level domain names.
If you do not wish to receive any posty notifications from our servers
- write to abuse@webby.com and
we will add your e-mail address to outgoing e-mail filters. (Please
be aware that you will block ALL outgoing e-mail communications from
us to you, including messages you may very likely wish to receive).
4) Add-on merchandising
Some of our software permits that gifts like flowers,
chocolate, prepaid single or multi-merchant coupons and gift certificates
or subscriptions and similar items be attached to postys. All data
involved with those attachments is separate from the posty data and
is not viewed or stored by us. Even though our software transmits
that additional data, that data is seen ONLY by the sender and the
merchant, and possibly the recipient. To help the site owner track
the effectiveness of that vendor, we can count the number per day
who submitted information to a third party, however, beyond the count
we do not track ANY data about any such submission or order.
Because we do not view, track, record or forward any data submitted
by a visitor to a vendor (except directly TO that vendor), we insist
on remaining outside and uninvolved in any discussion or dispute between
sender, vendor and / or recipient. We have adequate safeguards in
place to automatically protect the confidentiality and integrity of
any data involved, up to the point where it reaches the vendor. Webby,
Inc makes no promise, representation, guarantee or comment about what
happens to that data once it reaches the vendor. That is strictly
between the web master who contracts a vendor and that vendor.
5) Third party sign-ups (Co-Registration)
Third party registrations using intentional re-use and
submission of posty data to a third party for the purpose of receiving
goods, services or mail from that third party is permitted by some
of our software. We do not record which posty sender utilized that
option. To help the site owner track the effectiveness of that third
party sign-up we can count the number per day who submitted information
to a third party, however, beyond the count we do not track ANY data
about any such submission.
We have adequate safeguards in place to automatically protect the
confidentiality and integrity of any data involved, up to the point
where it reaches the third party. Webby, Inc makes no promise, representation,
guarantee or comment about what happens to that data once it reaches
that third party. That is strictly between the web master who contracts
that third party and that particular third party.
