DearWebby is actually Helmut Morscher, the CEO of Webby, inc.

Originally the "Tech Support Pits" were reports of the funniest tech support incidents, but over the years the column gradually shifted to answering tech support questions put forward by the readers of the Dear Webby Humor Letter.

This collection of computer and web advice was started partly because readers demanded an archive, and partly because some questions were asked again and again. Each page has a different day's Tech Support Pits column.

Have FUN!

Tech Support Pits:
From Linda=== Dear Webby, Well, I did all that bar twisting, but I used some thick plexiglass instead of aluminum. That should cause less hassle in the airports. The problem is where do I find a wing bolt ? In some hardware stores they knew what I wanted, but none had any. What now ? Linda Dear Linda take a small cookie cutter that you won't miss, for example a small star, lightly grease it on the inside, set it on some stretch wrap and set the 1/4" bolt into the center of it, head down. Then mix some 2 component 5 minute epoxy, and pour it into the cookie cutter. After about 10 minutes, pull the cookie cutter off and your bolt will have a fancy star shaped knob, just perfect for tightening the bolt to hold the camera securely. Fluorescent yellow or orange spray paint will make it easy to find it in your camera bag. Have FUN Dear Webby
