| DearWebby is actually Helmut Morscher, the CEO of Webby, inc.
Originally the "Tech Support Pits" were reports of the funniest tech support incidents, but over the years the
column gradually shifted to answering tech support questions put forward by the readers of the Dear
Webby Humor Letter.
This collection of computer and web advice was started partly because readers demanded an archive, and partly
because some questions were asked again and again. Each page has a different day's Tech Support Pits column.

Is there a way to connect two computers to one keyboard
and one monitor and one stereo? I want to use an old clunker
to bring in digital audio and play it on the big stereo that
I have connected to the main machine. The only time the
klunker needs a keyboard and monitor is for getting the
streaming digital audio started or the station changed.
There must be a way to do that without wasting money and
space on a second monitor and keyboard!
Any help would be appreciated.
If your computers both have PS2 keyboard cable sockets,
(the round DIN6, not USB), then all you need is a KVM
switcher. Dalco has them currently for $30
