DearWebby is actually Helmut Morscher, the CEO of Webby, inc.
Originally the "Tech Support Pits" were reports of the funniest tech support incidents, but over the years the
column gradually shifted to answering tech support questions put forward by the readers of the Dear
Webby Humor Letter.
This collection of computer and web advice was started partly because readers demanded an archive, and partly
because some questions were asked again and again. Each page has a different day's Tech Support Pits column.
Have FUN!

Tech Support Pits column from Dear Webby's Humor Letter of
04/07/04: Cable versus DSL
Tech Support Pits:
From Cyn===
Dear Webby,
If you had a choice between DSL and Cable ISP what would you choose? Is
there any factors that would make you switch between one or the other?
Have a great day!!!
Cyn
Dear Cyn
Mechanically they are about the same.
The biggest difference will be the ISP companies.
Ask people who use those companies about customer service.
Cable is usually more reliable, but because it is so reliable, their customer and tech support is often very inexperienced.
DSL is often provided by huge phone companies that have elaborate rigamaroles to waste your time and get you to give up on the idea of talking to an actual tech support person.
Just talk to people in your area and find out whom they recommend.
Have FUN
