DearWebby is actually Helmut Morscher, the CEO of Webby, inc.
Originally the "Tech Support Pits" were reports of the funniest tech support incidents, but over the years the
column gradually shifted to answering tech support questions put forward by the readers of the Dear
Webby Humor Letter.
This collection of computer and web advice was started partly because readers demanded an archive, and partly
because some questions were asked again and again. Each page has a different day's Tech Support Pits column.

Tech Support Pits column from Dear Webby's Humor Letter of
05/31/05: How to FTP via browser
Tech Support Pits:
From Suryakant===
Dear Webby
Tell me how to use a browser to upload
files to my site?
Thanks
Suryakant
Dear Suryakant
Let's assume for this example that your domain name
is suryasdomain.com and your user name is surya
and your password is 123456
You would then type into the browser address bar the following:
ftp://surya:123456@suryasdomain.com
If you have Windows XP - SP2, that will open a window showing
the files on your domain.
Reduce the size of that window to half screen and open a file
explorer window in the other half. Now you can drag files from
one side to the other.
SHIFT drag moves a file (deletes source)
CTRL drag copies a file (does not delete source)
just drag copies and does not delete the source.
Have FUN!
