column gradually shifted to answering tech support questions put forward by the readers of the Dear
Webby Humor Letter.
This collection of computer and web advice was started partly because readers demanded an archive, and partly
because some questions were asked again and again. Each page has a different day's Tech Support Pits column.

Dear Webby
I arranged all the most used icons along the left margin
like you suggested, and shrunk them down in size so that
I can fit more there, but I need more prime real estate for
icons I use a lot. What's my next option?

Dear Tanya
Drag the most used icons down onto the task bar next to
the START button. They will be visible there even when
all the icons along the left edge are covered up.
You can easily put ten icons there without interfering with
the rest of the taskbar.
