DearWebby is actually Helmut Morscher, the CEO of Webby, inc.
Originally the "Tech Support Pits" were reports of the funniest tech support incidents, but over the years the
column gradually shifted to answering tech support questions put forward by the readers of the Dear
Webby Humor Letter.
This collection of computer and web advice was started partly because readers demanded an archive, and partly
because some questions were asked again and again. Each page has a different day's Tech Support Pits column.

Tech Support Pits column from Dear Webby's Humor Letter of
07/15/04: Power, Sleep and Wake-Up
Tech Support Pits:
From Marion===
Dear Webby,
Is there a program to disable the Power, Sleep and
Wake-Up buttons on the keyboard? They are nothing but
trouble.
Thanks
Marion
Dear Marion
I agree that probably 99% of the people don't use those
buttons, well, not on purpose anyway. However, those
buttons are not completely useless!
The easiest way to deal with them is to
1) take a spoon and pry them off the keyboard
2) glue them to your boss's fax machine. There they will
add to his confusion and your job security.
Have FUN
