DearWebby is actually Helmut Morscher, the CEO of Webby, inc.
Originally the "Tech Support Pits" were reports of the funniest tech support incidents, but over the years the
column gradually shifted to answering tech support questions put forward by the readers of the Dear
Webby Humor Letter.
This collection of computer and web advice was started partly because readers demanded an archive, and partly
because some questions were asked again and again. Each page has a different day's Tech Support Pits column.

Tech Support Pits column from Dear Webby's Humor Letter of
07/19/05: Ready made Internet business
Tech Support Pits:
From Nancy===
Dear Webby,
All that advice you gave is great and I have saved it, but
it sounds more like a career than a business on the
side. What words of wisdom do you have for that?
Nancy
Dear Nancy
If you don't take a business seriously, it will sooner or
later deteriorate into an expensive hobby.
Even if you buy a ready-made business, you still have to
follow those common sense tactics, or it will fizzle without
a profit.
Above all, you will need a web presence and traffic.
Without traffic you won't make money. Even if you have
the worlds most unique mouse trap, if nobody knows
about it, nobody will buy it.
Sure, you can buy excellent, ready made, profitable
businesses for anything between $69 and $6.900,
but YOU have to supply the traffic with all of them.
So, the first thing is to get established on the web and
start building traffic.
Have FUN!
