DearWebby is actually Helmut Morscher, the CEO of Webby, inc.
Originally the "Tech Support Pits" were reports of the funniest tech support incidents, but over the years the
column gradually shifted to answering tech support questions put forward by the readers of the Dear
Webby Humor Letter.
This collection of computer and web advice was started partly because readers demanded an archive, and partly
because some questions were asked again and again. Each page has a different day's Tech Support Pits column.

Tech Support Pits column from Dear Webby's Humor Letter of
08/05/04: Attaching a folder
Tech Support Pits:
From Ann===
Dear Webby,
...is there any way of attaching and sending a whole folder
in an email or does one have to attach each file separately?
Thanks so much....
Your blond buddy...
Ann
Dear Ann
I don't thik any email program will let you do that, unless
you zip up that folder.
You can click on ATTACH or hit CTRL H, browse into that
folder, hit CTRL A to select all, and hit Enter.
That attaches all files in that folder.
Personally I am not in favor of sending a bunch of files
attached to email. It is a lot easier and safer to just
upload them to your site with FTP and then email just the
page address.
With FTP you can upload a folder AND it's included
sub-folders with one or two clicks and they will be in
exactly the same tree arrangement on the site.
