DearWebby is actually Helmut Morscher, the CEO of Webby, inc.
Originally the "Tech Support Pits" were reports of the funniest tech support incidents, but over the years the
column gradually shifted to answering tech support questions put forward by the readers of the Dear
Webby Humor Letter.
This collection of computer and web advice was started partly because readers demanded an archive, and partly
because some questions were asked again and again. Each page has a different day's Tech Support Pits column.

Tech Support Pits column from Dear Webby's Humor Letter of
09/17/03: Uniform of the enemy
Tech Support Pits:
From Bea===
Dear Bea
If some kids disguise themselves as thieves and robbers
and use goofy nicknames, that's one thing.
However, no honest adult is forced to wear a disposable
disguise and wear the uniform of the enemy (@spam.com,
@yahoo.com, etc.)
Except for Halloween evening you don't tolerate weirdos with
face masks and wearing the uniforms of the enemy at your
front door, so why should you tolerate them in your email ?
That is why Millions of people buy anti-spam programs hat
recognize the uniform of the enemy, and that flush those
nuisances down the garbage disposal.
Unless you are VERY new to the Internet, you will realize
that spammers are the enemy that will eventually destroy
email unless we fight them and win the fight.
If you are supporting someone who wears the uniform
of the enemy (-uses an address based on a spam-friendly
domain-) then you are supporting the enemy.
Life is a lot easier if you think ahead a little bit.
Have FUN!
