DearWebby is actually Helmut Morscher, the CEO of Webby, inc.

Originally the "Tech Support Pits" were reports of the funniest tech support incidents, but over the years the column gradually shifted to answering tech support questions put forward by the readers of the Dear Webby Humor Letter.

This collection of computer and web advice was started partly because readers demanded an archive, and partly because some questions were asked again and again. Each page has a different day's Tech Support Pits column.

Have FUN!

10/23/04: HP printer for Macs

Tech Support Pits:
From Howard=== Webby, I use the HP 750 as well and I want to add my two cents (US) worth. I have an iMac and for your Mac readers: set the print quality to draft or you will be waiting forever and ever for your documents to print. I don't know what the problem is except that it has to do with HP's drivers and OS X. I have had three HP printers since Apple released OS X and even with the latest drivers from HP, they all run very, very slow (a text page every two minutes) unless you set the quality to draft. FWIW, Scott Dear Scott I wrote to HP to ask them if they have found a solution, but so far have not received anyhting except maybe an auto-responder, which wold have been trashed by my spam control. Their customer support is obviously not nearly as good as their printers. If I do get a useful answer, I will post it here. Have FUN! DearWebby
