| DearWebby is actually Helmut Morscher, the CEO of Webby, inc.
Originally the "Tech Support Pits" were reports of the funniest tech support incidents, but over the years the
column gradually shifted to answering tech support questions put forward by the readers of the Dear
Webby Humor Letter.
This collection of computer and web advice was started partly because readers demanded an archive, and partly
because some questions were asked again and again. Each page has a different day's Tech Support Pits column.

10/24/04: Dry and slippery printer rollers
Tech Support Pits:
Go to TOP
Every winter we have this problem. The pick-up and transport
rollers in the printer get dry and slippery and become
unpredictable. Is there a quicker fix than going after them
with q-tips and gas line anti-freeze ? That's too slow and
tedious in the middle of a rush job.
For a quick freshening up you can lightly mist a sheet of
paper with Windex or gasline anti-freeze in a windex
sprayer, on both sides of the sheet, and run that through
the printer. It will pick up enough of the paper and clay
dust to let you complete that job.
