DearWebby is actually Helmut Morscher, the CEO of Webby, inc.
Originally the "Tech Support Pits" were reports of the funniest tech support incidents, but over the years the
column gradually shifted to answering tech support questions put forward by the readers of the Dear
Webby Humor Letter.
This collection of computer and web advice was started partly because readers demanded an archive, and partly
because some questions were asked again and again. Each page has a different day's Tech Support Pits column.

Tech Support Pits column from Dear Webby's Humor Letter of
10/29/04: Simple defrag
Tech Support Pits:
From Rose===
Dear Webby,
Your information to Bonnie yesterday ( how to delete
cookies) was a great help to me too. Now I am hoping
you have a simple way to defrag?
Thanks for your valuable information and funny jokes.
Rose
Dear Rose
The only civilized way to defrag is to get DisKeeper
(one "k") from http://diskeeper.com
You set that once, and from then on it does it's job in
the background whenever your screen saver comes on.
You can then totally forget about that chore.
It is always already done.
DisKeeper is not free, but if I had to list the programs
that have the highest usefulness per dollar value,
DisKeeper would be in the top three of that list.
Have FUN!
