DearWebby is actually Helmut Morscher, the CEO of Webby, inc.
Originally the "Tech Support Pits" were reports of the funniest tech support incidents, but over the years the
column gradually shifted to answering tech support questions put forward by the readers of the Dear
Webby Humor Letter.
This collection of computer and web advice was started partly because readers demanded an archive, and partly
because some questions were asked again and again. Each page has a different day's Tech Support Pits column.

Tech Support Pits column from Dear Webby's Humor Letter of
11/21/04: Cookies and Passwords
Tech Support Pits:
From Charles===
Dear Webby,
Every time I delete the cookies, all my passwords
are gone. Is there a way around that ?
Charles
Dear Charles
That is a safety feature that allows you to clean
the passwords from the auto-complete if you have to
go away from your machine or go on holidays.
Just get yourself a little prayer book and write your
passwords into that. Burglars or anybody trying to
break into your machine are unlikely to even look at
your little prayer book.
For really high security leave off the last two letters
from every password. By having the first part, you will
easily enough remember the last two letters.
Have FUN!
